Jamie’s Paddling philosophy:

When I was 16, I fell in love with whitewater after participating in a six week canoe trip that had a lot of whitewater. Now that I have found the joy of whitewater kayaking, there is no place I’d rather be. In a kayak in big water, you must work with the water and understand it in order to be successful. In my opinion, no other paddle sport offers as much connection with the water as whitewater kayaking does. When I am on the wave, feeling it’s power, I am completely in the moment. There are no bills, no deadlines and no distractions. That’s why I enjoy whitewater paddling, and that’s what I want to help students experience as they embark on their own paddling journey.
