Most Recent Update from the Whiteshell Park:
The Mantario Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park remains closed to the public. Assessments were conducted this fall for areas affected by the 2025 wildfire and a restoration plan is now being prepared.
Approximately half of the 60 km trail burned including backcountry campsites at Caribou, Marion, Peggy, Alice, Olive, Moosehead and Mantario lakes.
The trail will remain closed into summer 2026, as a significant amount of work and cleanup is required to remove safety risks in fire-damaged areas and address overgrowth in areas not impacted by wildfires.
Mantario Trail updates will be shared through the spring and summer at www.manitobaparks.com.
